About Us

The Centre for the Care of Survivors of Torture (CCST) was established in 2001 as part of SPIRASI and is the only independent specialist centre in Ireland providing multi-disciplinary healthcare services free of charge to survivors of torture. The CCST in co-operation with the statutory health services provides culturally appropriate multidisciplinary trauma healthcare and services to its clients.

In 2003, in acknowledgement of the above, the CCST was accredited as an internationally recognised torture rehabilitation centre with full membership of the IRCT (International Rehabilitation Centre for Torture Victims).

Mission Statement

The Centre for the Care of Survivors of Torture (CCST) is a non-profit humanitarian organisation that works with the survivors of torture to engage in a healing process to achieve their full potential whatever their ethnic origin, gender, religious or political background in the common goal of the prevention of torture worldwide.
